We're now distributing fulldome shows by other producers
To be sure, we think the fulldome shows we create at Loch Ness Productions are great. But we acknowledge that other talented producers and shows are out there. Over the years, we've compiled a list of commercially-available titles and who made them, and we share that information with you here. Our list is pretty comprehensive, and it's a popular destination on our Web site.
Wouldn't it be great if you could just peruse our list, and click on any available show that interests you to get it? Now Loch Ness Productions has arranged with some selected producers to resell their titles for your fulldome theater.
Maybe you already have all our shows, and are ready for more! Or maybe it's more convenient for you to issue a single purchase order to one supplier (especially handy if the producers are in all different countries). We're here to help you assemble your shopping list!
We're starting out with titles from Mirage3D, Adler Planetarium, and of course SpacePark360: Geodesium Edition from Dome3D. We're in discussions with other producers about their upcoming titles as well, so please check here to see what shows are available through Loch Ness Productions. And in our big list of shows, which we've now renamed the LNP Fulldome Show Compendium, we've highlighted those titles in blue.
With the addition of these shows to our catalog, we took the opportunity to tweak some of our own show pages, pricing and policies.
We revised some of the language in our standard fulldome show license, to make it a little more generic so it can apply to all the shows we distribute, not just the shows we created ourselves.
We refined our policies regarding the shipping of hard drives. Basically, we're including the cost of whatever storage medium is required to ship your order, instead of adding on an additional cost for it, or arranging for a loaner drive exchange. And we're also including the cost to encode and slice shows for some multi-projector systems, instead of adding on an extra slicing fee. There are still a few systems that require custom slicing that we have to contract out to those hardware manufacturers; we now have a compatibility list available to show you which systems we can encode for, and what are the recommended sizes for our movie files.
And we have been getting questions about pricing for upgrades/downgrades. So we've come up with policies for A) when a theater gets a higher-resolution projector system and needs bigger movie files or B) adds a portable fulldome system to augment their fixed-dome facility and needs additional movies to show on the smaller system.
