SAVIO FONG is Chairman of Galaxy Scientific Group (Hong Kong), and acts as our representative for Digital STARLAB fulldome video products in Asia.

Galaxy Scientific Group was established in 1996 and became the leading astronomy organization in the region, providing programs, technical consultation and equipment supplies. With a base in Kerry Lake Egret Nature Park, Galaxy owns and operates the first observatory dome in Hong Kong — the Lake Egret Observatory — which houses a massive telescope weighing two tons, and the first STARLAB mobile planetarium in Hong Kong. It currently serves 10,000+ participants a year with various edu-tainment, carnival, workshop and certificate programs.

The organization's key focus is to serve the education field, community and individuals on nature and liberal arts study and support. Over the last 10 years, the group has been invited by government and key publishers of Hong Kong to participate in formal astronomy curriculum development for primary schools, and has trained teachers from over 100 primary and secondary schools.

In addition, Galaxy Scientific Group provides facility development service and technical consultation to schools, government and private sectors interested in purchasing mobile and fixed-dome planetarium theaters and observatories. They represent and distribute major brands of astronomical equipment. In 2006, they introduced the first Digital STARLAB mobile planetarium in Hong Kong.
